Admission Requirements:
This research grant seeks candidates that: (1) have concluded the bachelor degree or 1st Cycle of an integrated MSc Course, and, (2) that are currently attending the MSc Course or 2nd Cycle of an integrated MSc Course, in Electrical and Computer Engineering, or similar. Additionally, prior expertise on deep learning techniques and electronic design automation tools for analog and radio-frequency integrated circuit design, and/or, prior experience with the AIDASoft framework (aidasoft.com) are required.
Work Objectives:
The workplan is integrated in the LAY(RF)^2 project and addresses the development of electronic design automation tools that answer to several modeling, simulation and layout-induced issues that emerged with the state-of-the-art radio-frequency and millimeter wave circuit and system topologies, and also, deep nanometer integration technologies. Particularly, for this position, the work will be centered on the development of advanced machine learning methods, e.g., deep artificial neural networks, that will speed up the automatic generation (device, sizing and layout) of the radio-frequency and millimeter wave circuits already performed in the AIDASoft framework (aidasoft.com).

The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at Lisbon, under the supervision of Professor Ricardo Miguel Ferreira Martins
Duration:
3 months with the possibility of renewal. Start date: 01-04-2021 (or soon thereafter).
Monthly salary:
805,98? (net), according to the table of grant amounts awarded directly by FCT for positions held in Portugal (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores). The payment will be made by bank transfer.
