A research position for two ?Bolsas de Iniciação Científica? (BIC) are opened at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of the Project Reference UID/EEA/50008/2019, funded FCT/MCTES through national funds. The work for this position is in the area of coherent optical communications.

Admission Requirements: University students from 1st cycle or Student of Master (or integrated Master) in the area of Computer science, Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Physics Engineering, or equivalent. Background and/or experience in programming C/C++, VHDL, or Verilog will be valued.
Work Objectives: Implement and validate a software package to support quantum secure multiparty computation.

Place of work: The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at Aveiro, under the scientific supervision of Professor Armando Nolasco Pinto.
Duration: 3 months, with the possibility of renewal. Start date: April 2019 (or soon thereafter).
Monthly salary: 388,81? (net), according to the table of grant amounts awarded directly by FCT for positions held in Portugal (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores). The payment will be made by bank transfer.
