PHYSICAL COMPUTING

IADE-UE is seeking candidates for Assistant Professor positions (other ranks will be considered) in support of our project-based learning (PBL) programs in the technology area (B.Sc. in Game Development; B. Sc. In Creative Technologies; B.Sc. in Computer Engineering; B.Sc. in Informatics for Management;

Job Description:

· Teaching subjects such as Physical Computing, Structure of Logical Thinking, Programming Fundamentals, Object-Oriented Programming, Digital Systems, or Computer Architecture;

· Conduct research in the software development and physical computing areas;

· To be involved in the creation of research lines in the same areas;

· Service responsibilities.

Successful candidates are also expected to contribute to the creation of new B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs and courses in interdisciplinary areas, especially those combining technology with design, such as creative technologies or advanced technologies for games.

Desired skills and experience:

· The candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field at the time of appointment;

· Hold an outstanding record of teaching, scholarship, and funded research relevant to the profile required;

· Expertise in include a set of the following: physical computing, wearables, programming and interactive programming, software development, and design patterns;

· Strong experience with a range of devices, such as Arduino, Rasperry Pi, sensors, actuators, embedded systems, etc.

Highly valued:

· Expertise in robotics, HCI design, and hardware development;

· Professional physical computing industry experience;

· Professional experience in settings combining creativity with technology.
