The GSS Finance Master Data (FMD) Senior Specialist will work with a team of around 10 professional Master Data colleagues in the Global Center.

The Center is responsible for the execution and delivery of a broad range of financial services and processes across our business divisions and markets globally.

The FMD Senior Specialist will be responsible for the qualification, data analysis, data accuracy, and change control for our global Financial Master Data.

The Senior Specialist will utilize SAP knowledge, business processes knowledge, and SOPs to solve issues in relation to finance master data in collaboration with other processes.

Additionally, the FMD Senior Specialist will work daily with our global BPO partner who executes FMD Transactional services for Organon for all our global regions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of all finance master data objects (Cost Center, Profit Center, Allocations, Internal order, GL accounts) and process-related policies and procedures to effectively interface with internal and external clients and to pro-actively comply with audit requirements.
  • Responsible for the monthly and annual closing of all Subledgers and General Ledger globally for all company codes.
  • Audits MDM operational stewards' work to ensure compliance with SOP for key controls over sensitive fields and information.
  • Reviews and analyzes system and passive data governance reports ensuring high-quality data.
  • Supports departmental report and metrics generation.
  • Monitors data, analyze reports, and tracks specific activity to ensure records are synchronized. Acts to resolve all issues and discrepancies.
  • Support other MDM stewards, by providing cover when unavailable
  • Provide Operation Overflow support (Training, Confirmations, etc.)
  • Ensures compliance with data privacy.
  • Performs other activities and special projects as directed by the MDM Finance Lead or MDM Finance Sr. Specialist.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or other related area.
  • Up to 5 years? experience in Finance Master Data & other Data areas.
  • Fluency in English, other languages highly valued.
  • Experience working on regional or global teams. (Valued: Experience of Launching / Standing up a Shared Service Center).
  • Experience with Internal or External Audit valued.
  • Demonstrated experience working in large teams collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated strong math, query, analytical and systems skills with demonstrated experience in data management, MS Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain financial controls.
  • Effective training skills and team building capabilities for management of functional tasks within area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, strong oral and written communication, presentation, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Good project management skills including ability to coordinate and implement complex cross-functional activities.
  • Experience with continuous process improvement projects leading to significant time or bottom-line savings.
  • Pays attention to details, produces accurate deliverables, and consistently meets deadlines.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP preferred.
  • Solid financial background with experience in accounting processes valued.
  • Proactive style in implementing new processes.
  • Experience using SAP R/3 required. (Valued: experience with SAP S/4 HANA).
  • Experience working in shared service, regional roles, participation in global initiatives preferred.
