About the role
Technical Architects at Ascent work closely with our customers to help make architectural decisions and guide the technical direction of the project through its lifecycle. Our Technical Architects are deep subject matter experts, who still spend a lot of their time developing proof of concept work and writing code. But alongside that, you get to work closely with customers during the pre-sales and proposal stages of projects to ensure the right architectural choices get made.
You?ll be working with interesting customers, diverse sectors, and complex challenges, on both major transformations (typically 6-18 months) and smaller scope engagements, so this is a role to stretch both your technical and your customer-facing skills. You?ll also work as part of our core architecture team, helping to establish and promote best practices through the company?.

Skills and experience*
We?re looking for a strong background in software development in .NET, with extensive role experience in developing coding in C# and .NET core. If your front-end knowledge includes Angular and React, this is a big advantage. Whilst you don?t need to already be in a formal technical architect role, we?ll expect you to show role experience in a client-facing, decision-making role where you?re accountable for technical choices. You?ll have deep knowledge of cloud-based distributed systems and a good overall knowledge of Azure using PaaS technologies. Knowledge of CI/CD, preferably using Azure DevOps, and source control and collaboration tools like Git and Azure DevOps will be important. If you?re already certified in Azure that?s fab ? but not necessary as we would support, you with gaining a qualification.
