Job Description ?Investment Analyst Intern

We are currently looking for an Intern to support in identifying, evaluating and supporting companies for our investments in European SMEs within the consumer value chain. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership and work in a small international team to support high potential companies to expand into new markets. S/he will also have the opportunity to support other projects at PortXL and August One such as firm building initiatives, and portfolio management.

Through the work, the successful candidate will get the skills, experience and network to have a clear understanding of how a small, fast-moving investment firm works. S/he will meet with multiple stakeholders, build a network in Singapore and participate in the development of the startup ecosystem. S/he will learn how to structure investments in Singapore and abroad.

The specific responsibilities for this position:

• Identify companies for investments by building a network within a local market, attending events, building partnerships
• Validate and evaluate companies according to target criteria
• Perform due diligence on selected companies for investment
• Perform market research on SME investments in EuropeTimeframe:
• 3-6 months (exact dates to be discussed) ? Starting asap
• Location of work will be discussed with the intern
• Prepare investment documentation (valuation models, IC reports, validation memo)
• Support on event creation, organization and communication (workshops, panels, networking)
• Monitor and track the progress of all invested companies to support the management of the portfolio with value creation and exit strategies
• Support firm media initiatives

Eligibility, desired skillset and personality traits:

• Previous work experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity or venture capital is a plus
• Undergrad or recently graduated in Management/Economics/Finance
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Portuguese
• Comfortable with dealing with numbers and quantitative problems
• Good understanding of finance and financial modelling
• Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a team
• High energy levels, outcome oriented and opened to learn and diversify skillset
• Curious, open-minded, natural leader, confident, diligent, organized and enthusiastic

Compensation:

Interns receive a token stipend and have the possibility of receiving a permanent job offer on completion of the internship program based on their performance and the company?s needs.
