Your Role

This role works closely with Heads of Product Portfolio to direct the planning of both short and long-term strategies and disseminates information to facilitate transparency and visibility across product teams and the IT communities (Product Group Leads, Product Leads, Engineering Managers, etc.) while providing operational service excellence. This role will review annual budgets to align with global finance on staffing plans of each Head of Product Portfolio +/or Product Group Lead controller. This role requires a results-oriented and innovative leader with a solid track record of driving positive change, hiring the right team, and developing people. The Managing Director will also ensure that appropriate oversight is applied in resolving team conflicts and that processes, rules of engagement, and team capabilities enable business decisions. They must have deep technical and leadership capabilities, while confidently interacting with executive stakeholders. Communication is key to success in this role with a demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional partners and management to impact decision making.

Your Responsibilities

• Development and management of the IT Hub in Porto on operational and where needed strategic level. This includes among others responsibility for budgets and costs, and personnel management;
• Working jointly with management of KN Porto in developing IT Hub Porto to a Center of Excellence, including developing organizational culture for IT Hub;
• Definition and implementation of optimized processes in IT Hub;
• Building up collaboration with stakeholders and Heads of Product Portfolios from other locations and representing Porto IT Hub interest;
• Cost management of IT Hub Porto
• Representing Porto IT Hub company in Kuehne+Nagel and in in local and external market.
• Personnel related responsibilities:
  
  • Responsible for supporting recruitment in Porto
  • Day-to-day management of operation (Engineering Leads as solid line)
  • Ongoing development of existing employees and improvement of efficiency

Your Skills and Experiences

• Bachelor?s in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent work experience;
  
• 15+ years relevant experience in IT development center;
  
• 10+ years building and executing a technology roadmap;
  
• Proven success in leading innovative technical teams and the supporting their professional development;
  
• Strong communications skills;
  
• Strong end to end knowledge supply chain operations;
  
• Must be Fluent in English and Portuguese (verbally and written);
• Oporto IT market knowledge.
