The Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability Manager, Portugal, will be leading the implementation of the strategy & actions towards shaping, promoting, and protecting the reputation of Coca-Cola in Portugal to create the conditions for sustainable business growth in line with our business goals.
You will:
Execute the European strategy on the Portuguese market within public affairs and communications & sustainability
Enhance and protect the reputation of our company, category and brands in Portugal, including potential impacts on our reputation across Europe and globally.
Ensure PACS franchise leadership along with the GM and IB PACS line director to ensure effective and aligned plans with our bottling partner.
Support all major business initiatives where PACS might add value for the local business.
Lead, advise and partner with the bottling partner on the strategic initiatives to build system trust.
What You?ll Do for Us:
Public Affairs and stakeholder engagement
Strategic planning and implementation of key OU and corporate reputation programs, sponsorships, partnership and its strategic leveraging with mass media and stakeholders.
Align and implement government relations strategies for Portugal and work together with bottling partner in leading relationships with key government officials, mitigating regulatory risks and issues, ensuring business continuity.
Regulatory monitoring and stakeholder mapping.
Public representation along with the GM: represents TCCC (The Coca-Cola Company) and the Coca-Cola System in business and professional associations, external meetings on social and economic issues.
Participation on the industry and sector associations
Corporate, category and reputation management
Media Relations (including digital):
Lead proactive media relations, developing personal contacts with a broad range of opinion makers.
Manage preparation and execution of content for distribution through traditional and digital media.
Manage the execution of marketing PR campaigns /Liaise with the PR agencies to ensure the level and quality of service is as per the agreements/contracts.
Risk assessment of brand plans.
Keeps top level relationships with editorial staff of all target media outlets.
Corporate reputation
Create and implement effective programs to enhance corporate reputation, further the corporation?s sustainability agenda and enhance category perception.
Manage the public debate on relevant topics through liaising with key opinion leaders.
Community relations
Leads giving and local community activities in alignment with the community strategy outlined by our Social Impact lead in the Europe OU (Operation Unit)
Manages key stakeholder relations along with the GM.
Issues and Crisis Management
Manages IMCR (Incident Management and Crisis Resolution) coordinates with our bottler, the Europe OU crisis team and Corporate.
Provides advise/heads up to management team on issues, sensitive to media and public that may affect the Coca-Cola system.
Qualifications & Requirements:
5-10 years of relevant professional experience.
Native Portuguese and Advanced English and Spanish, both spoken and written.
Ability to work with external stakeholders.
Strong capacity to build relationships and trust
Strive to build profitable, long-term relationships that drive value across the Coca Cola System.
Leverage internal insights and external best practices to promote leading edge thinking
Strong and proven ability to work in a networked organization through strong collaboration will all functions and our bottler.
Experience of issues and crisis management.
Experience of advising senior management.
Understanding business insights and strategies.
Experience in operating in complex organizations.
Travel requirements:
15% travel required
