The Accounting Specialist - German Speaker role will form part of the General Accounting Team, reporting directly to the Chief Accountant.

This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the General Ledger, creating the trial balance, and drafting financial statements. This includes supervising and delivering activities for month-end, calculating and posting journals (including accruals), GL account reconciliations, reviewing and analysing the General Ledger/trial balance, and working with local Finance teams to identify adjustments.

The Key Responsabilities include:

  • Perform general accounting support and month end
  • Review and analyse information from the general ledger and other accounting records to ensure accuracy and completeness, and take corrective action, as appropriate
  • Address audit enquiries / investigation
  • Create trial balance and draft financial statements
  • Supervise the delivery of daily operational accounting tasks and the processing journal entries
  • Ensure the execution of period-end accounting entries by posting manual journal entries and processing recharges (e.g., accruals, currency conversions, etc.)
  • Oversee the postings of journals and ensure that processes are correctly followed
  • Oversee the reconciliation of General Ledger / balance sheet accounts
  • Support in the production of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
  • Oversee the preparation of month-end and year-end close process
  • Be proactive in the provision of feedback and the delivery of ideas to develop and improve solutions
  • Perform other reasonable duties within the Record-to-Report pillar as required
The skills and competencies we are looking for are :
  • BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field
  • Proven experience as an accountant
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
  • Strong financial, analytical, communication and project management skills
  • Ability to develop, motivate and lead diverse teams and managing workload efficiently across resources
  • Good analytical skills and detail orientated
  • Strong organisation and time management
  • Ability to work unsupervised and deliver high quality work to tight deadlines
  • Full proficiency with Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, processes and workflow technology
  • Operated in complex environment with the same size and scale
  • Experience from working in a similar industry
  • Fluent in German and English
