Your new role
The Manager, Employee Relations (ER) Solutions role is part of a dynamic and integrated global Kantar Business Services function delivering HR services. The role works in collaboration with HR Business Partners as well as specialist functions such as Talent Acquisition, Reward, Digital HR, Global Mobility, Finance and, Learning and Leadership to ensure an exceptional customer experience and high-quality business outcomes.
The Manager, ER Solutions will build and develop an ER Service team that is service driven and flexible to changing business demands, providing strong employee relations expertise across multiple business units and geographies. The role will be accountable for the day-to-day operations of a small team of ER advisors who will counsel and coach the business on all aspects of employee issues e.g., disciplinary, grievance, performance, and sickness.
The Manager, Employee Relations Solutions will be required to execute the following responsibilities:
Partner with business leaders and HR teams to create positive employee relations, design initiatives which improve the employee experience, and drive consistent performance management and best practices.
Use professional credibility and strong relationships with HRBPs, business leaders and people managers to influence best ER practices aligned with Kantar values.
Operate as a trusted advisor assisting, coaching and providing guidance to our people managers through performance management and other employee relations situations.
Partner with HRBP/Teams to own, create, and draft employee policies, processes and precedents, and advise on how to apply these consistently.
Lead, partner and/or manage investigations across the business, proposing remediation/action based on investigation findings.
Analyse data to provide objective insights on employee relations matters to People Partners and business leaders.
Audit performance and quality against targets and take ownership to implement appropriate corrective action.
Assist in driving communication and sharing of best practices across the people team to facilitate continuous improvement.
Strengthen the capabilities of people managers by providing coaching and enablement on performance management, probation management, wellbeing and sickness absence, and other key ER areas of focus.
Provide subject matter expertise related to local employment laws.
Accountable for the development of ER policy and procedure, ensure it stay up to date with relevant local legislation and employment law.
Coach, lead, motivate and develop our ER Solutions team, ensuring people development requirements and technical competence are maintained and up to date for all team members.
Support managers and HRBPs in the effective application of HR process and policy.
What you'll need to succeed
Degree level education or equivalent HR/ Business Management/ Law. CIPD Accredited or equivalent.
Qualified and experienced HR practitioner gained within a Global organisation.
Experience in employment law across multiple geographies with strong ER and case management background.
Solid working knowledge of current employment legislation including clear evidence of practical application.
Operational management experience and team performance development, ideally in a GBS environment.
Meticulous, accurate, well organised and with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
A good team worker with the ability to work effectively with staff at different levels of an organisation.
Good communication skills ? ability to adjust communication approach to suit a situation.
Strong understanding and respect for confidentiality.
Fluent English speaker, accurately able to read and write English and to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and management.
Strong service ethos and skills supported by hands on customer service delivery experience in an office environment.
Willingness to work flexibly across geographic time zones during peak periods such as period end.
Experience of working with employee representation groups (Labour / Trade Unions) would be advantageous.
