Manager ? Accounting EMEA for Life Sciences Solutions Group (LSG

What will you do?

You will have responsibilities related to the following areas:

• Monthly closing of the accounting ledgers in line with the financial close schedule
• Oversight of the work performed by the accounting teams supporting LSG in EMEA
• Act as Accounting partner for the business on projects like integration of acquisitions, introduction of new policies, revenue recognition
• Work with the Global Accounting team on projects and solutions from an EMEA perspective
• Support and develop the deployment of new tools that will be introduced to the company and will support the Accounting function going forward
• Technical accounting research of complex issues to ensure accurate accounting treatment
• Ensure that the accounting is being performed following company procedures, financial close schedules, and in accordance with US GAAP and SOX
• Identify and drive process improvement initiatives

You will work closely with the regional accounting teams, the accounting shared service centers, the corporate accounting team and the LSG FP&A groups. This role will report to the LSG EMEA Director of Accounting - and will be a key member of the EMEA Controllership leadership team.

• You have a Bachelor?s degree in Accounting and preferably a chartered accountant
• You have 6+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with some management experience preferred (combination of public accounting and industry experience preferred)
• You possess a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP with proven advanced accounting and technical skills
• You have prior experience working with financial software such as SAP, JD Edwards Enterprise One, Hyperion Financial Management and Hyperion Enterprise
• You have effective written and oral communication skills
• You can thrive in a large, matrixed, international organization and have the ability to work cross-functionally with individuals and teams
• You keep an eye toward continuous improvement with a successful track record of optimizing processes
• You can prioritize multiple projects and complete them successfully
• You enjoy working in a fast paced and evolving environment
