MISSION STATEMENT:
We are looking for a highly motivated Financial Accountant to support the Finance team by maintaining the integrity of the financial accounting rules and compliances. As Financial Accountant you will assist to re-enforce and optimize the financial processes and controls. You will be responsible in overseeing the accounting function.
The Financial Accountant must be a self-starter, has high energy levels with a proven ability to meet and exceed the accountabilities as listed below:
EXPECTATIONS FOR THE ROLE:
- Responsible for accurate, timely, and qualitative Financial Reporting in line with legislation and corporate standards;
- Responsible for ensuring that financial statements fairly represent the state of affairs of the company, including assessing the need for accruals & provisions;
- Perform all month end closing activities, within the set time frame through use of different systems in collaboration with the Financial Controller;
- Up-to-date treasury management (bank statements, payment batches, cash flow forecasting,?);
- Handle corporate TAX related questions (Belgium);
- Responsible for the preparation of Management of Balance Sheet Sub ledgers (Fixed assets, inventories, accounts payable, ?);
- Prepare the statutory annual financial statements
- Prepare and assist in both external and internal audit processes;
- Preparing/reviewing relevant journal entries and assessing the need for accruals and provisions;
- Prepare and file all TAX related declarations for a number of countries (VAT, Intrastat, corporate TAX, surveys, ?);
- Responding to Ad hoc request and lead assigned project management responsibilities;
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:
- Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance;
- Approximately 5 years of financial accounting experience;
- Experience and proficient knowledge in TAX, Intrastat and Corporate TAX filings (Belgium,;
- Level of knowledge of TAX regulations (Income TAX);
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office, with excellent Excel skills, SAP is a plus);
- Being accurate, accountable, positive and result driven;
- Dutch / French and English
