Your profile

• You convince us by having an economical degree (preferable with a focus on foreign trade) from a university or equivalent professional accreditation.
• In your professional career you already gathered at least 5-7 years of experience in the field of customs.
• You have a profound knowledge in MS Office applications and ERP Systems (SAP).
• The following terms define you as a new colleague: Team-mindset, decision-making ability, assertiveness, structured analytical methodology, quality management, organizational skills, communication skills.
• Language skills: English (professional); Spanish and Portuguese (medium to professional); optional: German (basic knowledge/ understanding).

Your responsibilities

• As Head of Customs, you will lead the customs function in Spain and Portugal. One of your main objectives will be the setup and implementation of a new and transnational customs environment/organization for Spain and Portugal.
• You are responsible for the creation and maintenance of customs/Intrastat guidelines, on the basis of the ICP customs and applicable local regulations, for Siemens Energy in the two countries.
• Additionally, you are responsible to closely interact with the Export Control Professionals and ensure having an aligned ?voice? and communication towards the business. In addition, you and your team will build up a deep integration with other company departments such as Purchasing, Logistics, Sales, others.
• You are (functionally) steering the operational teams in the areas of customs control.
• You are the lead in advising projects/business of Siemens Energy within your area of responsibility with regard to customs regulations (based on ICP, regional/national requirements) as well as achieving effective/efficient end-to-end (E2E) processes in alignment with customs colleagues globally.
• You are responsible for the consideration/integration of orderly and efficient customs/Intrastat processes within the business processes and systems.
• In order to do so, you closely work together with technical functions, especially SE TS FE and engaged IT stakeholders.
• In your day-to-day activities you analyze training needs, provide trainings and hereby ensure a sufficient training level across the organization.
• Integral part of your responsibility is the execution of spot checks and controls of the processes to ensure adherence to local and central provisions.
• Provide data for the global and local organization in order to ensure visibility for the processes performed.
• You act as contact partner for local (customs) authorities within audits and questions arising within customs operational processes.
• You are the main contact and information hub for the SE TS C EU functions for your local and regional area of responsibility, being also embedded in the EU advisory landscape.
• You are assigned to Portugal or Spain location and report to the Head of EU Customs.
