Position Overview

The Employee is responsible to manage IT Operations within IT systems, network and control processes in Valenca plant. He works primarily with IT Engineers and IT technical staff in Valenca and with support groups from the Corporate.


Responsibilities

1. Business continuity. Ensure all backups complete successfully, while the scope, frequency and retention are agreed with Data Owners. Perform a regular Inherent Risk Assessment and Business Impact Analyse, then update and test all required Disaster Recovery Plans. Escalate all system/network downtimes without delay, in order to minimize losses, get appropriate support and to inform Customers and Management.

2. Standardize versions and ways of working. Support the goal of having standardized hardware, software and methods for all plants and they are in line with the Corporate guidelines. Schedule and manage periodic updates to get all HW and SW to standard versions. Ensure the subordinate staff uses the most recent versions of procedures, working instructions and manuals. 3. Share ideas. Become an expert on plant processes, shop floor and manufacturing systems and all local computing and communication technologies. Communicate regularly with other IT leaders and with the supervisor to identify opportunities to implement best practices. Look for opportunities to apply new technology to improve Systems operations.

4. Coordinate requests. Be the central point of contact for end user?s requests. Maintain a list of open requests, establish priorities then delegate requests to appropriate technical individuals or teams. Periodically get the supervisor?s approval of closed and open requests for the resource and method used and priority assigned.

5. Provide first level technical support. Be the first point of contact for questions and problems. Have the technical knowledge and ability to configure software & hardware, install printers and scanners, set up new workstations and install software upgrades. Perform root cause analysis for problems and suggest corrective measures. Make the determination of when and how to involve the technical team in the resolution of problems. Follow up on issues passed to the technical teams.

6. Test. Support unit testing of new or changed software before it is installed in a production environment. Work with users and technical teams to resolve problems before approving changes for production. Organize and conduct pilot runs.

7. Support plant implementations and new launches. Provide project coordination support for plants or departments wishing to implement new systems/features. Develop task lists, time lines, budgets and resource requirements. Meet regularly with the plant teams and provide progress reports to management.

8. Report progress and status. Maintain records of projects and of Help Desk activities and be ready to report to management.

9. Budgeting. Identify and report all needs to be budgeted.

10. Comply with audit requirements. Follow all company?s policies, in particular the ITPM. Support the technical staff to follow procedures and maintain documentation to assure compliance with SOX and Lear internal audit requirements.

Requirements

required: Associate degree in computer science

preferred: Bachelor degree in a technical field

Fluent English is required

Four or more years in a manufacturing environment in an IT.

Hands on experience in supporting shop floor control and manufacturing systems.

Profound knowledge and experience in a technical field.
