This position will be responsible for the administration of sales compensation plans and business analysis of the sales compensation program and processes for the World Wide Public Sector (WWPS) sales organization. As a sales compensation analyst, the position will be responsible for driving sales compensation operational excellence, administration of key sales compensation data, and senior level sales compensation programs for the organization that address our business governance, performance management as well as guiding the organization to prepare for senior reviews. The role will also provide analytical support focused on understanding sales compensation program performance insight, and revenue performance dynamics. The role will further support projects that are focused on developing and refining the sales compensation strategy of the sales organization. The role will include interaction with the sales force and analysis to insight activities to support the rapid growth of the AWS public sector business. It will also include developing business papers for review by leadership to articulate strategy, recommendations as well as performance insights
A successful individual will be results oriented and have the ability to think strategically, act tactically, write effectively, and display strong analytical and critical thinking skills. The candidate must also be able to build strong cross-group working relationships.
Responsibilities include:

  • Administer the commissions process by maintaining, tracking, reporting, auditing and analyzing relevant sales compensation data in order to produce accurate and timely payouts
  • Be the subject matter expert on commission calculations and be able to effectively communicate with all stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships and work collaboratively with sales people and sales managers to deliver key insights on sales performance and compensation impacts
  • Identify inefficiencies, implement solutions, and track progress around sales performance and related expenses such as commissions, SPIFF, and other bonuses
  • Track and analyze pipeline and forecast in SFDC to proactively prepare for commission payouts and identify deals that require exception approval and large payout impacts
  • Ensure targets are appropriate and consistent across the entire WWPS sales organization.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments in support of the sales compensation process
  • Coordinate across AWS to share programs and best-practices as well as participate on any pan-corporation programs as needed.
  • Assist with analytical projects focused on deep insights that enable business planning decisions
  • Assist in the maintenance of training materials in support of the Sales Compensation Engagement Lifecycle

  • Exhibits sound business judgment, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership and leading data-driven analyses to support and grow a business.
  • Sales compensation domain expertise
  • Experience using BI tool
  • Experience working within a high-growth, technology company would be beneficial
  • Familiarity with Public Sector market
