We have an opening for a key customer engagement role within ORC?s practice within an international market, centred around EMEA, reporting directly to ORC?s EMEA Director of Sales. Over the last few financial years, ORC has positioned itself for growth, with strong revenue growth year on year. In line with the development of the practice, this role has been created to work closely with Oracle Retail Licence Sales in pursuing new Saas and license opportunities that will drive new engagements for ORC.

We are looking for someone who has a keen interest in the sales cycle, who can engage with our customers in the EMEA region to help them understand the implementation/support services that we can offer and convert them into new business for the Practice.

Key functional responsibilities for the Sales Consultant are:

  • Liaising with the Oracle sales? teams to explain how the Oracle Retail Cloud Services are implemented for their customers.
  • Working with the customer, at all levels of the business (e.g., CEO, CFO, head of IT, support teams etc), to assess their implementation requirements.
  • Performing assessment work on the customer?s current landscape and how Oracle Retail solutions must ?integrate? both at a business process and technical level.
  • Helping to define the scope of a project clearly, identifying staffing requirements, additional customisations work and a proposed implementation timeline.
  • Supporting the creation of bid proposals for our services that explain the project, its scope, assumptions and obligations on the customer.
  • Providing necessary project scope input into the formal contract creation process, working alongside other sales team members and the bid analyst team.
  • Working closely with ORC architects and consultants, typically in a virtual working environment, where additional expertise is needed in solution specific areas.
  • Engaging with other parts of ORC, GBUs and/or wider Oracle teams, where required, in the support of cross line of business customer opportunities.
  • Providing bid handover into the delivery teams to ensure successful project kick-off
  • Helping define future sales service offers that we want to take to market.

Your role as Sales Consultant is to ensure that any future projects are correctly scoped, so the ideal candidate for this role will have an existing consulting background, with knowledge of all phases of project life, preferably in recent True Cloud Method implementations. He/she should also have knowledge of the solutions and ORC Assets that we offer in the Enterprise space, although training can be provided where gaps exist in knowledg

Personal Profile:

Education:

Bachelor?s degree in business, technology or a related field

Experience:

  • At least 5 years? experience in a combination of consulting, marketing in the Retail industry, with hands-on project work of Oracle Retail projects a plus.
  • Experience of managing bids in a consulting organisation would be useful.
  • Experience of selling to the Retail industry, either directly or in material sales support role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Sales ? understand the steps required to manage and close a sales opportunity .
  • Business development ? ability to identify and help develop offers that will help secure consulting engagements.
  • Inter-personal skills ? able to communicate with and influence peers, client representatives (including Senior Executives) and internal and external teams.
  • Practical understanding of Retail Industry processes and working practices.
  • Detailed understanding of Retail drivers and constraints.

Fluent in English ? it would be preferable, but not critical, that the candidate could speak at least one other European language


Detailed Description and Job Requirements As a recognized authority and leading contributor within their practice, this senior-level consulting position provides consistent high quality and innovative solution leadership to a project team. Leads the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget.
Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customer?s objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to deliver functional and technical solutions on non-routine and very complex aspects of applications and technology installations. Provides direction and mentoring to project teams, and effectively influences customer leadership on key decisions. Supports the business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain expertise. Resolves complex customer issues by recommending and implementing solutions. Demonstrates expertise in multiple business processes across two or more product families or ability to architect and design technology solutions encompassing multiple products and make decisions based on impact across the stack.
8-10 years of experience relevant to this position including 4 years of consulting experience. Prior team leadership or management experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to travel as needed.
