Revenue Analyst - Revenue Operations Team

In this role, you will be a significant contributor in the revenue accounting and operations process for OutSystems to achieve compliance with accounting standards, including both US GAAP and IFRS. You will work cross functionally to ensure revenue streams are compliant and the revenue close process is efficient, accurate and controlled. The ideal candidate will have some experience with Netsuite - Advanced Revenue Management module and corporate accounting either from the technology industry or working for a top tier audit firm with SaaS experience.
Responsibilities:

  • Perform revenue closing tasks within Netsuite, including completion of revenue compliance checklist and review of revenue details with Revenue Manager and Controller.
  • Make routine suggestions on how to improve the revenue quote-to-cash process.
  • Compile revenue reporting package and iterate on package based on quickly changing needs of the business.
  • Determine correct revenue recognition treatment for complex ramped and swap orders by managing the automated revenue recognition process for the company that includes implementing revenue adjustments and revenue accounting, defining open and closed periods and transferring entries to the general ledger.
  • Provide guidance on revenue recognition working closely with Sales Operations, Collections, Professional Services and Accounting teams to resolve any questions.
  • Assist with other month-end close tasks as needed.
  • Support ad hoc analysis, the revenue team in general and other projects as needed.
  • Continue to improve and iterate on processes and controls around revenue recognition including SOX related process improvements and controls.
  • Interact with internal and external auditors by support the Annual Audit and Quarterly reviews, preparing any needed supporting analysis, audit schedules, etc.
Requirements:
  • 2 or more years of experience in SaaS revenue recognition or public accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of SaaS revenue recognition rules, mainly ASC 606 and IFRS 15.
  • Ability to review and interpret contracts from a revenue recognition standpoint and compare the interpretation to what is in general ledger.
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • CPA and/or MBA or other advance degree a plus but not required.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Able to give clear and consistent recommendations and/or instructions to team members.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Exceptional writing proficiency and oral presentation skills.
  • Excellent listening, problem solving, and decision making skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills required and experience using Salesforce.com and CPQ is preferable.
