We are currently seeking an Operations Manager - (M/F) ? Fluent in Italian for our Operations Italy Department; the position can be based in Lisbon or Oporto, Portugal.

The Operations Manager will manage in one or more department, several operational teams within Cardif Services. He/she will contribute actively to the implementation and success of the departments transfers. Share and Promote Corporate Values and implement the principles of positive management

Main functions

Team Management:

Elaborate team members? job descriptions with direct management and HR department.

Take part in the recruitment process, to the training and development of each team members.

Manage team?s organization and performance.

Identify and report training needs.

Manage vacations, absences and plan team presence on holidays.

Motivate the team and integrates the diversity of its members.

Ensure the appraisal process of Team Leader, Supervisors and team members in coordination with direct management.

Manage Conflict Management and build a constructive relationship with team members.

Contributes to the salary review process and bonus attribution.

Supervisory control of the operations & Managerial Efficiency:

Participate with Team Leaders:

In the supervision of all operational activities in accordance with the department?s procedures.

In the management report of activity and team related subjects.

Assist management in the key performance indicators (KPI) preparation.

Be apt to lead several Team Leaders & take Initiatives (mature, analytical)

Risk and Cost Awareness:

Identify risks and promote risk-mitigation processes

Identify potential cost-savings and promote cost-efficient processes while maintaining quality and risk controls

Assure management reporting and knowledge of any potential risk situation

Team Work:

Work effectively with Team Leader to set objectives and accomplish goals

Assure and be an active part of team motivation

Respect the needs of others and displays integrity in dealing with team members

Planning & Organizing:

Ability to work in an organized manner

Ensure management report concerning any planning (work/team) that may need further support

Continuous Improvement and Adaptation:

Incentive and generate creative solutions to problems

Strive to improve services and processes

Recognize and value individual initiative and innovation

Identify and value individual potential

Ensure management awareness of profiles with high potential within the team.


Qualifications Required:

The position is open to all degree or higher education in any of the following subjects:

Business administration/business management;

Computing and information technology;

Human Resources management;

Previous experience in managing large teams is highly valued

Extensive knowledge of Insurance processes and specificity is mandatory

Skills and Basic Features:

Be a good decision maker and problem solver within his/her area of expertise

Huge knowledge of Insurance and Italian insurance specificities

Strive continuously for customer satisfaction

Aim to deliver very high quality results

Good capability of managing stress and conflicts

Good written and oral communication skills

Italian Native or bilingual

Fluent in English

Good listening and questioning ability

Ability to plan work ahead and to prioritize workload

Have exemplary behaviour; lead by example.
