About the job

Mission of the Lead Software Architect

The Mobile Tech Lead is the Solution Architect and Team Lead in charge of mobile developments and teams for all our Products. She/He's a key stakeholder of the Product Engineering team, enabling our product squads to deliver solid and future-proof mobile experiences to our customers and their end-users. She/He drives the overall "mobile development" strategy for our different products: Decisions on mobile technology stack(s), consolidation of multiple products/apps, coordination with other Tech Leads and Architects on general software architecture, etc.

Day-to-day tasks

  • Mentor and lead the mobile developers to build sustainable apps (tech, architecture, codebase) that delivers a high-quality experience.
  • Collaborate with key technology stakeholders (Tech Leads, Architects) toward a consistent overall product architecture, quality, and deliverables.
  • Actively participate to (or drive) SCRUM ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, review, retroâ?¦) of the team(s).
  • Present and represent our mobile tech strategy in key ceremonies when required (e.g. Product Board).
  • Act as an expert, evangelist, and reference point of "mobile" engineering, in- or outside the company.

Experience

  • Scientific Bachelor or Master's, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • At least 6 years of experience in Mobile Software Engineering, including hands-on programming.
  • Strong experiences with responsibilities in technical designs or strategies.
  • Strong experience in development team leadership.

Skills

  • Top notch communication skills in English (oral, written, presentation)
  • Strong expertise on at least 1 of the below domains:
    • Android Native Development
    • iOS Native Development
  • Knowledge on alternative frameworks such as React Native or Flutter is a strong plus
  • Knowledge on some supporting tech stacks is a plus:
    • API development (.NET and/or PHP stacks preferably)
    • SaaS architecture in general
    • Database modelling and development (SQL Server or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with any of the following functional fields is a plus:
    • Travel, payment industries
    • Accounting, fiscal compliance (VAT etc.)
    • Authentication, security
    • Quality certifications related to the above (ISO, ISAE, PCI, PSD2â?¦)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Pragmatic mastery of Agile/SCRUM and Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Fluent is using Jira and Confluence to share contributions and organize your work is a plus.
