About the job

The Senior Programme Manager will be fully in charge of the delivery of his/her projects, by facilitating, and animating relevant programme governance bodies and producing associated deliverables. A large part of the job will be to liaise with multiple relevant stakeholders within the GB EMEA universe (notably with FO and ITO worlds) as well as with Group Control functions, to ensure coordination & alignment on programme approach and priorities.

Your Main Activities Are

More specifically, as part of the CCFC team, the Senior Programme manager?s core responsibilities will include:

  • Frame, oversee and report on programme deliveries
    • Define approach & priorities at stream level
    • Retroplan and steer programme deliveries
    • Identify and act on dependencies, attention & decision points
    • Follow up on key actions and initiatives
    • Report on programme status update to Head of CCFC and to GB EMEA CCCO
  • Manage programme deliveries & project teams
    • Define stream scopes, roles & responsibilities
    • Manage the project-related workload and prioritize deliveries
    • Quantify and manage budgets pertaining to his/her projects
    • Ensure coordination with other GB EMEA/CIB initiatives
  • Prepare and facilitate programme governance committees
    • Weekly / bi-monthly project committees
    • Monthly Steering Committee
    • Quarterly GB EMEA Control Board
    • Ad hoc workshops to deep dive in operational topics and solve potential project-linked obstacles
    • Contribution to other GB EMEA governance bodies
  • Perform ad hoc focus analyses on Programme topics
    • Target Operating Model, target framework upgrades
    • Target operational risk management setups
    • Target & tactical tools gap analyses
    • etc
  • Manage & mobilize key global and local stakeholders
    • Act as main point of contact with main stakeholders
      • 1LoD Front-to-Ops (COO, Head of OPC, CCCO?)
      • 2LoD & Group stakeholders
  • Ensure effective internal and external Programme Communication
    • Prepare programme communication material (newsletter, presentations, etc)
    • Raise awareness among key stakeholders on programme priorities and milestones
    • Ensure communication to Operational Risk Community & GB EMEA management

Profile and Skills to Success

Hard skills

  • Masters degree, preferably in Business, Engineering, IT and/or Project Management.
  • 5 years of experience in:
    • the Corporate banking universe (front and / or Middle), and/or
    • in Project Management, and/or
    • a Consultancy firm.
  • Ability to work on Project Mode in a complex environment
  • Knowledge on Operational Risk and / or Permanent control
  • IT skills: MS Office
  • Knowledge on Operational Risk management tools is a plus.

About the Team

The Senior Programme Manager will be an instrumental member of the GB EMEA Permanent Control community, managed centrally, integrated in the teams of the GB EMEA Chief Controls and Conduct Officer and as such, reporting to the Head of CCFC (Conduct, Culture, and Framework Continuity). The Senior Programme Manager will join the CCFC team, composed of 4 other Senior Programme Managers (including 2 also based in Lisbon). His/her role will consist in conducting projects seeking to improve GB EMEA?s control framework and therefore reinforce the mitigation of operational risks.

Operational Risks are those defined by Basel 3 regulations. On some risks, the responsibility of GB EMEA is limited:

  • On IT & Cyber Risk- The risk management is fully under ITO responsibility
  • All operational Risks regarding Finance/ HR are fully managed by the management of those entities
