The role will oversee the delivery of AR processes, the responsibilities will include managing the completion of daily transactions while ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the entire accounts receivable process. They will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure processes are performed in accordance with performance and quality standards.

The AR Manager will oversee a team of AR Assistants and report directly to the Head of O2C.

Key Responsibilities

The AR Manager will be required to execute the following responsibilities:

  • Oversee the customer payments receipt/deposit from the collection of cash from customers, to the deposit into bank accounts and to the entries into the books of accounts
  • Supervise the cash remittances application (cash allocation)
  • Review the postings for AR activity to the general ledger and the preparation of reports that detail balances due or what to collect from customers at a certain point in time
  • Oversee the preparation of the AR reports and analysis of delinquent account balances as well as the preparation of the general ledger for account receivables from journals
  • Ensure the correct posting of all journal entries related to accounts receivables in the general ledger accounts of the business
  • Review the AR aging analysis examining balance statements of accountholders who failed to make required payment
  • Ensure the adjustments/write off balances are processed in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with GKN?s operating procedures
  • Review credit / collection reports
  • Oversee adjustments and alterations made in the accounts to rectify errors/omissions
  • Ensure all AR related activities are performed in line with agreed SLAs
  • Work closely with other Finance teams, such as the GL team, in the provision of support to colleagues
  • Communicate daily and weekly delivery performance levels to the team
  • Ensure feedback to line manager outlining general activities of role and ?how we are doing?
  • Ensure each employee?s role responsibilities are clearly defined
  • Set, monitor and manage the day to day objectives of the team
  • Manage and lead teams and mange workload efficiently across resources
  • Perform other reasonable duties within the Oder-to-Cash pillar as required
  • Overview of month-end task of all assigned markets: AR reconciliations, reports, ageing, booking of AR entries/documents, etc.
  • Responsibilities during Transition period:
    • Perform knowledge transfer through ?train, observe, support & perform? phases, representing Porto SSC with local Entity team
    • Travel to local Entity office
    • Develop and maintain desktop procedures and process flows
    • Support integration of newly transitioned processes into SSC; during training, hyper care and beyond
    • Train new SSC team members in processes
    • Contribute to continuous process improvements
    • Escalate issues and feedback from local Entities
The skills and capabilities we are looking for are :
  • BSc/BA degree
  • Prior experience in Accounts Receivable
  • Excellent knowledge of customer billing concepts and O2C processes
  • Very strong general accounting knowledge
  • Customer focus with an ability to focus on the end-to-end process
  • Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to develop, motivate and lead diverse teams and managing workload efficiently across resources
  • Good analytical skills and detail orientated
  • Strong organisation and time management
  • Ability to work unsupervised and deliver high quality work to tight deadlines
  • Full proficiency with Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, processes and workflow technology
  • Operated in complex environment with the same size and scale would be a plus
  • Experience from working in a similar industry is valuated
  • Native or very good level of English is mandatory
