JOB OVERVIEW

The Costing Trainee reports to the Costing Team Leader and has to give support to the department in order to ensure that the Financial Statements are correctly prepared for Statutory and USGAAP purposes. Additionally, the Costing Trainee has to support the costing analysts on their management accounting period close responsibilities, standard cost process development and variance analysis.

PRMIARY DUTIES

  • Perform multiple tasks in the monthly close process (including monthly Cost Runs) and verify accuracy of data, make corrections to data, reconcile discrepancies in inventory, improve general ledger linkages to detailed transactions, and improve the integrity and internal control of data, systems, and processes. Utilize and understand existing databases to perform multiple tasks of verification;

  • Daily Queries management - Ad Hoc Business, Reporting and Analysis requests;

  • Perform internal controls in compliance with SOX Requirements.

  • Period Close Manufacturing Analysis.

  • Interact with ERP system to calculate, review, and correct actual unit cost variances from standards. Utilize and develop delivery tools for variances for RM price and usage, labor and overhead, efficiency and spending and volume.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting , Finance or related field

  • Good written and spoken English

  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office (preferably in advance Excel- e.g. Pivot Tables/Macros)

  • Positive and enthusiastic team player

  • Good organization skills
