About the Role

Uber Eats was launched in Portugal in November 2017 and is now the most downloaded Food Delivery App. We are available in 70+ cities, delivering from over 6,000 stores (restaurants and others) and growing quickly!

The Central Operations team is responsible for ensuring that we provide a best-in-class experience to our merchants, delivery partners and eaters by maintaining the highest operational standards in terms of efficiency, reliability and customer experience. As a restaurant operations manager, you'll be responsible for designing and executing the strategy that will empower merchants in our app - or those looking to getting in - to succeed whilst leading and coaching a team to support you in that journey.

This role calls for a combination of savvy analytics, strategic thinking, strong execution and the interpersonal ability to work alongside a team of Operation Managers, Territory Leads and Account Managers.

What You Will Do

  • Strategy definition: develop the strategy for the restaurant operations vertical, focusing on increasing acquisition, engagement and loyalty of our merchant partners on Uber Eats
  • Project management: oversee and execute end to end complex projects, such as the launch of new products and processes, ensuring that they are executed in line with Uber's high operating standards and delivered in a timely manner
  • Data analysis: identify opportunities for improvement leveraging Uber's extensive datasets using SQL, Google Sheets and Google Data Studio
  • Stakeholder management: support our account management and territory teams - who are in close contact with our merchant partners on a daily basis - in solving their challenges at scale; and liaise with our regional and global teams to help them prioritize our most pressing needs
  • Process creation and improvement: build new processes and tools, or improve the existing ones, to address problems that improve the experience of our merchant partners in the app. This can include processes to reduce the time it takes a prospective partner to get onboarded or to help fight fraud in the app

What You Will Need

  • At least 3 years experience in operations management, management consulting, investment banking, strategy work in a large business, marketing or brand strategy, growing a startup or similar experience.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English needed
  • Willingness to own a market and grow the Uber Eats business there.
  • Ability to take initiative and easily adapt to constantly-changing work environment
  • A creative mindset and ability to put in place initiatives to solve practical issues
  • A strong strategic mindset, in particular applied to brand positioning
  • Data-driven decision making mentality and sound business judgment through analytical thinking
  • SQL knowledge is a plus. Must be willing to learn SQL if it is not a skill they own yet
