Job Summary

ConvaTec uses Hyperion Financial Management, Essbase and Hyperion Planning to support financial consolidation, budgeting, forecasting and analysis.

Reporting to the Financial Systems Architect, the position of Hyperion Planning and Essbase Administrator will be responsible for ensuring that an efficient and effective Hyperion Planning application (and its underlying Essbase databases) is available to end-users to support the bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly forecast processes and the annual operating plan, as well as Essbase cubes for analytical purposes. They will also provide back up support to the HFM Lead to ensure core closing processes are covered should the HFM Lead be unavailable.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain Hyperion Planning and Essbase applications across all active environments (Production and Dev)
• Oversee and participate in all technical, financial and global user (250) support activities for the Monthly Closing, Quarterly Estimate and Annual Planning process as they relate to the Hyperion systems
• Integrate acquired company financial data into the ConvaTec reporting environment
• Manage all system metadata including but not limited to nearly 20,000 products and related roll-ups, financial accounts, functions, cost centers, projects, geographic markets and management roll-ups to ensure accurate and consistent reporting
• Manage all mapping of source system data (ERP and user provided) to maintain consistency with existing ConvaTec reporting practices.
• Manage consolidations, integrations and perform validations from source systems and ensure data flows accurately and efficiently to downstream planning applications
• Perform data reconciliation and maintain data integrity of what is being loaded into Hyperion Planning and Essbase cubes
• Receive and analyse requests for meta data changes, ensuring proper business decision maker approval
• Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency of our Hyperion Planning and Essbase applications
• Participate in Hyperion Planning and Essbase enhancement projects
• Provide coverage and support for the HFM lead where required

Language Skills Required

English - Fluent (mandatory)

Must have (Qualifications and Experience)

• Bachelor?s degree
• A minimum of five years?, hands-on Hyperion Planning and Essbase administration experience including use of FDMEE for mapping purposes
• A minimum of two years, basic HFM administration experience
• Ability to analyse financial data and financial statements (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow)
• Strong project management skills; the ability to manage details through to completion and ensure project deadlines are met
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel

• Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely express ideas both verbally and in writing
• Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement all the elements required for the successful fulfillment of the Finance Systems and BI team?s objectives
• Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to effectively address issues in collaboration with others as appropriate; ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems
• Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple, concurrent demands and appropriately prioritise responsibilities
• Ability to collaborate with others and act in an objective manner to effectively solve problems and stay on track towards accomplishing organizational goals
• Knowledge of SAP
