Unbabel is currently looking for an Accounting Manager to join the team in Lisbon!
The accounting manager will be responsible for supervising and managing the accounting department and all area of financial reporting, including payroll, accounts payable and general ledger.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Ensure that the accounting department of the Portuguese subsidiary operates smoothly and handles communications between the accounting department and the outsourced accounting firm.
Maintain records, review the monthly financial reports and ensure all work is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with company and state financial regulations.
Manage the accounting staff who are responsible for payroll processing, account payables and grant submissions.
Adhere to proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
Maintains accounting controls by establishing a chart of accounts and defining accounting policies and procedures.
Audit accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Coordinate with outside auditors and provide needed information for the annual external audit
Collaborates with the other department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
Qualification and skills:
Bachelor?s or Master?s Degree in Accounting, Management or Finance required
3+ years of proven experience in accounting
Strong understanding of US GAAP and basic accounting procedures
Familiarity with financial accounting statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
Experience with NetSuite is a plus
Advanced knowledge of Excel
Strong problem solving, analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
Able to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally with other departments
CPA preferred, not required
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
