About The Opportunity We are seeking to hire a Global Costing lead to be a member of the GKN Automotive Costing Team. this role will be key in managing the costing process fro new buisness opportunities. THis role can be based in Poland, Portugal Or Slovenia at the established GKN Automotive Site.

The role supports Director Programme Costing and works closely with plant finance teams, Programme Controllers and all other functions (especially Account teams, ME and PU) on all financial aspects of costing in Europe.

Costing Lead Europe prepares costs and financial models for NBAQ, evaluates margin analysis of running programs (D-Phase), evaluates VA/VE and D-Phase changes, supports the preparation of Make vs Buy analysis, works on cost tasks to recover profitability.


Former experience as a plant Controller, costing manager, Senior Cost & Price Analyst or strong controlling responsibilities.


Advanced knowledge of Excel (pivot table), Word, Power Point. Knowledge of VCOR, IDash, Qlikview and Product Costing. Results focused with good written and oral communications skills; Leadership and charisma; flexible; result oriented.

  • Provide support to the Division with complete, accurate and timely financial costing information to support business development and the decision making process

  • Standardize and further develop costing in Europe

  • Support Director Program Costing to prepare financial information to formulate strategies with respect to product profitability, capital investment, and other strategic planning activities

  • Investigate and identify cost reduction opportunities through cost analysis review

  • Provide support on cost breakdown preparation (NBAQ and D-Phase)

  • Develop and maintain skills and professionalism in the costing network within the Region

  • support to Plants on annual calculation of Standard Costs

  • prepare Programme trackings (D-Phase) highlighting gaps in profitability.

  • Utilise cost methodologies and tools and appropriate software to prepare and maintain reliable and accurate data. Key focus is VCOR data reliability

  • Share costing best practises

  • Be involved in: 1) Preparation of Financial model for NBAQ; 2) Standard Costing ? Assurance of standard costs for all products, alignement with Divisional Standard and reconciliation with Budget P&L; 3) Gross Margin Management for D-Phase programs ? VCor application in all plants, Vcor data reliability; 4) VA/VE costing; 5) Make vs Buy
