Admission requirements: We are looking for a motivated fellow holding a Master in Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Bioengineering or related field. The candidate is expected to have experience in the area of Oncobiology, Glycobiology, and Cellular and Molecular Biology. It is also required experience in cell and tissue analysis including immunohistochemistry as well as in molecular and cellular biology methodologies, such as: i) cell culture; ii) protein analysis; iii) western-blotting iv) flow cytometric analysis; v) and microscopy. Applicant should be in a non-academic degree course that meets the requirements of al. e) of no. 3 of article 4 of DL 74/2006, in the current wording, namely those courses that, not conferring an academic degree, are inserted in the educational offer of the higher education institution that confers them, being the same titled by diploma (no. 3 of art. 4) which conclusion is subject to registration (art. 49).
Plan of work: In this project, research activities will address the evaluation of the biological effects of compounds in gastrointestinal cells and in the glycosylation of the cells. The research activities also include advanced analytical, cell and molecular biology approaches to address the anti-inflammatory and anti-tumoral properties of the compounds.

Duration of the fellowship (s): The Fellowship will have the duration of 4 months. The expected starting date is july 2021.
Value of monthly maintenance allowance: ? 1.104,64, according to the table of values of the fellowships awarded directly by the Portuguese FCT, I.P. (https://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/docs/Tabela_Valores_SMM_LOE_2021.pdf) and Regulation of Research Grants from Ipatimup. The payment of research scholarship will be made by bank transfer. According to Article 10 of the Statute of the Research Fellow from Portuguese FCT, the value of the social insurance can be reimbursed, upon the decision of the student to subscribe it.
Methods of selection: The selection methods to be used will be curriculum evaluation (90%) taking into consideration the admission requirements mentioned above and the interview (10%). There will be a preselecting phase based on seriating curricular evaluation, being requested to interview up to the 3 top candidates.

Form of publicizing/notification of results: The final results of the evaluation will be advertised through an ordered list of the selected candidates by final classification, available for consultation at Ipatimup website.
