According to article 8 of the Regulation for Scientific Research Fellowships of IPMA, IP, published in Official Journal 2nd series, Part C, n.º 154, august 10th of 2020, is made public that, by deliberation of the Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera, I.P. (IPMA, I.P.) Board of 12/05/2021, the opening call to award one Research Fellowship was authorized, in the scientific field of Natural Sciences, within the framework of the project SNMB-MONIT III, integrated in the Program MAR2020.

Job description:
1: Recipients The fellowship is intended for holders of a degree to carry out an activity of research in the scientific area of Natural Sciences. 2: Admission requirements The candidate should have a degree qualifications in the Chemistry, Biology, Marine Biology or related areas and be a student of Master's or Integrated Master?s or enrolled in non-academic degree courses integrated in an educational project of a higher education institution developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units. 3: Work plan The grantee's work program to hire includes the following activities: a) Marine toxin level surveillance in bivalve molluscs produced in offshore systems and captured in lagoons and estuaries harvested areas; b) Marine toxin analytical assessment in bivalve molluscs and in other marine organisms; c) Utilization of ?workplace.ipma.pt? platform for the publication of the marine toxin results; d) Management and maintenance of the ?bivalves@ipma? application functioning in android and iOS environment; e) Participation in the elaboration of progress and final reports of the project. 4: Duration and Renovation conditions The scholarship, scheduled to start at 01/07/2021, will have a duration of 6 months and may be renewable under the terms of article 15 of the IPMA, IP, Scientific Research Scholarship Regulation. The work to be carried out within the scope of this Scholarship is of a temporary nature, with no continuity beyond the conclusion of the project. 5: Supervision and workplace The work to be developed will take place within the framework of the organic unit DivOA/DMRM, at the Avenida Doutor Alfredo Magalhães Ramalho, n.º 6, 1495-165, Algés, under the scientific guidance of the Responsible Investigator PhD Maria João Botelho. The location of the activities may be modified according to the needs of the defined Work Plan. 6: Value of monthly maintenance allowance The amount for the fellowship corresponds to 835.98 ?, according to the table of values approved by FCT, I.P. (https://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores.phtml.pt). The payment of the scholarship will be made on a monthly basis, through bank transfer to be made by the services of IPMA, IP. 7: Jury members The jury, appointed by order of the Board of Directors of IPMA, I.P., is composed by the following members: President: PhD. Maria João Botelho ? Head of Division of Oceanography and Marine Environment (DivOA) and Marine Biotoxins Laboratory Manager, IPMA, IP; 1st Effective Member: Dr. Sara Teixeira da Costa, Senior Technician, IPMA, IP; 2nd Effective Member: Dr. Rui Teixeira Oliveira, Senior Technician, IPMA, IP; 1st Alternate Member: Dr. Patrícia Presado, Senior Technician, IPMA, IP; 2nd Substitute Member: PhD. Helena Gomes Lourenço, Auxiliar Researcher, IPMA, IP. 8: Selection and methods criteria 8.1. Admission requirements: all candidates that fulfill the requirements defined in points 2 and 11 of this notice will be admitted to the competition. 8.2. Evaluation method: the candidates will be evaluated by curriculum evaluation and interview. 8.3. The curriculum evaluation (AC) is expressed quantitatively from 0 to 20 values corresponding to the addition of the values obtained in the following objective criteria. The curriculum evaluation is obtained by applying the following formula: AC = 0.15A + 0.15B + 0.10C + 0.20D + 0.25E + 0.15F. a) Merit of the Candidate, considering for the purpose the classifications obtained in his academic career according to the admission requirements of this competition, the published scientific works, the previous projects in which he collaborated or promoted [10 values]. A. Final degree: o Equal or higher than 10 and equal or less than 13 values ? 12 points o Equal or higher than 14 e equal or less than 16 valores ? 15 points o Equal or higher than 17 e equal or less than 18 valores ? 18 points o Equal or higher than 19 e equal or less than 20 valores ? 20 points B. Number of authored or co-authored techno-cientific publications in the relevant scientific areas and in papers with cientific referees: o No experience ? 0 points o Equal or less than 2 techno-scientific publications ? 10 points o Equal or higer than 3 techno-scientific publications ? 20 points C. Number of projects and scientific activities in which colaborated and promoted: o No experience ? 0 points o Equal or less than 2 projects ? 10 points o Equal or higer than 3 projects ? 20 points b) Adequacy of the Candidate to the Work Program, considering for this purpose his training profile, previous experience, and his suitability for the Work Program [10 values]. D. Experience in the marine biotoxins analytical asssessment and in others chemical contaminants in biological matrices by liquid chromatography: o No experience ? 0 points o Equal or less than 2 years ? 10 points o Equal or higer than 2 years ? 20 points E. Experience in the area of instrumental methods of chemical analysis or validation of analytical methodologies: o No experience ? 0 points o Equal or less than 2 years ? 10 points o Equal or higer than 2 years ? 20 points F. Experience in the management of chemical analysis laboratories and in statistics software: o No experience ? 0 points o Equal or less than 2 years ? 10 points o Equal or higer than 2 years ? 20 points 8.4. If an interview (ENT) is carried out, it can be carried out in person or by electronic means, corresponding to its classification to the addition of the values obtained in the following criteria. The interview classification is obtain by the following formula: ENT = 0.25a + 0.25b + 0.25c + 0.25d. a) Engagement, motivation and posture [5 values]. 4 points: inappropriate attitude and lack of motivation 8 points: inadequate attitude and little motivation 12 points: adequate attitude and motivation 16 points: very adequate attitude and motivation 20 points: excellent attitude and motivation b) Sense of organization [5 values]. 4 points: absence of sense of organization 8 points: little sense of organization 12 points: adequate sense of organization 16 points: very adequate sense of organization 20 points: excelente sense of organization c) Adaptability [5 values] 4 points: lack of adaptability 8 points: little adaptability 12 points: adequate adaptability 16 points: very adequate adaptability 20 points: excellent adaptability d) Expression and overall fluency [5 values] 4 points: difficulty in expression, communication and interpretation 8 points: little capacity and expression, communication and interpretation 12 points: capacity and expression, communication and interpretation 16 points: good ability and expression, communication and interpretation 20 points: very good ability and expression, communication and interpretation 8.5. The final classification of each candidate will be decided by simple majority of the jury members. 8.6. Ordered List of the Final Classification: all the candidates admitted to the competition will be ranked in order by the classification given by the jury. In the case of conducting an interview, the final classification will be obtained by the weighted sum of the curriculum evaluation, weighing 60%, and the interview 40%. 8.7. The competition jury will hold the necessary meetings to obtain a final decision, documenting in minutes the procedures used, as well as all the elements deemed relevant for the construction of the final decision. 9: Communication of results At the end of the evaluation process, candidates will be notified of the ordered ranking list within 5 working days, following the process of hearing interested parties, under the terms of article 12 of the IPMA, IP Scientific Research Scholarship Regulation. In case of withdrawal of the selected candidate, either in the admission phase or after recruitment, the jury, if it so chooses, reserves the right to summon the next candidate and so on until the vacancy is filled, in accordance with what is stipulated in the methods and criteria for the selection of the contest. 10: Homologation After the conclusion of the process of hearing the interested parties and their appreciation by the competition jury, the final decision of the jury will be proposed for approval by the IPMA, IP Board of Directors. 11: Submission of applications Applications to the research fellowship must be formalized by sending, to the email [email protected], the application form available at https://www.ipma.pt/export/sites/ipma/bin/docs/organizacionais/IPMA-FORMULARIO-CANDIDATURA-CC-v1.0.pdf, and must be accompanied by the following documents: a) Copy of the identification document; b) Certificate of permanent residence, authorization for permanent residence or long-term residence status, if applicable; c) Documents proving the conditions required by the type of fellowship, namely a copy of diplomas that attest the Academic Degree, recognized by a Portuguese University, if they were obtained abroad; d) Detailed and signed candidate's curriculum vitae; e) Copy of the proofs attesting the professional experience and training, namely recommendation letters, proofs of courses or internship certificates; f) Up-to-date document proving the professional situation, indicating the nature of the employment and functions, which may be replaced by a declaration on honor if the candidate does not carry out any professional or service provision activities. g) Document proving enrollment in a master's, integrated master?s degree or in a non-academic degree integrated in an educational project of a higher education institution developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units. If it is not possible to obtain the certificates mentioned in paragraph c) and g) by the end of the application period, the candidate must replace them with declarations of his responsibility with the corresponding content, submitted electronically and, in case of granting the research grant, send to IPMA, IP the official certificates, prior to the conclusion of the scholarship contract. Failure to deliver the documentation, referred to in b), e), f) and g), within one month from the date of notification of the results, implies not granting a scholarship. 11.1.
