As a Backend Software Developer at Anova, you will join the leading global provider of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions for the Industrial Gases, Rail, Energy, Oil & Gas, Water/Wastewater markets, building next-generation, highly scalable, web and mobile applications, digital twins, and analytics with reusable building blocks and microservices. Collaborating across multiple business units (e.g., product, marketing, engineering, IT) to create innovative technical products in a relaxed working environment with no dress code, you?ll be a valued addition to a small and dynamic development team, where everybody has a voice, and your opinion is heard. We?ll also equip you with a high-end portable workstation and two 27" 1440p monitors to set you up for success.

Key teammates are in Coimbra, Porto, and Lisbon (Portugal) and preference will be given to candidates in closer proximity to this location and time zone; however, fully remote candidates will be considered and are encouraged to apply.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Builds a world-class Industrial IoT (IIoT) platform

• Designs microservice architecture, ensuring security, high-availability, resilience, and scalability
• Responsible for all the SDLC (i.e., develops, ships, measures, and maintains back-end services)
• Works with relational and non-relational databases
• Conducts design and code reviews

ABOUT YOU

Required Skills & Experience:

• Creates and builds leading-edge products and solutions with more than one programming language (e.g., C#, Java, Python)
• Object-oriented programming (OOP) or functional programing
• Cloud computing, distributed systems, REST-API design, or similar
• Container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• CI/CD tools (e.g., Git, DevOps, Jenkins)
• Fluency in English, written and spoken
• Computer Science or related Engineering degree

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• Industrial IoT (IIoT) and Cloud projects
• Operates production workloads in the Azure Cloud
• Understands data stream platforms and message brokers and queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, Azure Events Hub)
• Develops large-scale distributed systems
• Knowledgeable and adept in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum)
• Proven ability to thrive in a high-growth environment, such as a start-up
