FIELD EDITOR - JOB DESCRIPTION

Africa Oil & Power is the African continent?s leading investment platform for the energy sector. Through a series of events, online content and investment reports, we unite the entire energy value chain ? from oil and gas exploration to renewable power ? and facilitate global and intra-African investment and collaboration.

Africa Oil & Power is committed to bringing together like-minded people with the common objective of facilitating the critical investments that will power Africa?s economies, build communities and shape societies. This is the place to meet the dealmakers and make deals.

RESPONSIBILITES

¨ Copywriting and editing primarily for print publications but also web and social media platforms.

¨ Daily creation of content for AOP platforms including (but not limited to) the Africa Energy Series books and Africa Oil & Power website.

¨ The field editor is assigned to any location requested by AOP management.

¨ Interview policy makers and executives and process interviews and information acquired in the field to make investment reports.

Live interviews on camera when needed.

Market research and creation of a database of energy industry actors in an assigned country.

Writing of analysis articles.

Written content must not be plagiarised, and should not require excessive editing.

Content should be produced and edited according to deadlines provided by supervisors.

Filing and archiving of project files, transmission of files according to company policies and guidelines.

Support of programming team prior to events.

Support of programming, content and marketing teams during AOP events, including but not limited to social media posting, basic photography and coordination of program.

Other content and production related tasks assigned by the production desk when required.
