In the Payroll Accounting Manager role, you will develop a Payroll Accounting process for existing practices and further standardize, simplify, and automate Payroll Accounting for OutSystems. You will work with the finance team and experts from the OutSystems People Operations Team to enhance our internal systems of control, ensuring scalability of process.
Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with People Operations to extract data for payroll runs and validates the entries
  • Work closely with People Operations to create and maintain effective robust internal controls for global payroll processes
  • Work closely with external service provides whilst seeking to consolidate this provision
  • Validates payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job titles, and department/ division transfers.
  • Ensure all staff are paid correctly on time including associated tax matters
  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages.
  • Determine payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments for all locations.
  • Balance the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.
  • Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation
  • Ensure Expatriate Staff payroll accounting matters are correctly administered and accounted for
  • Ensure the local tax treatment and reporting around share option exercises is correctly maintained
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Maintain payroll finance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintain payroll finance staff job results by counselling and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to Accounting and Finance Teams effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Assist with the month end close process.


Requirements:
  • 5 or more years of experience in Payroll Accounting, including experience dealing with multinational structures and global payroll compliance
  • Knowledge of the external service provides on a regional and national level
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate financial statements of current and prospective customers.
  • Experience with NetSuite is a plus, but not required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance / Qualified Accountant
  • Ability to travel periodically
  • Results oriented with an uncompromising position on ?doing the right thing?
  • Able to give clear and consistent recommendations and/or instructions to team members.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Exceptional writing proficiency and oral presentation skills.
