WHAT ARE WE HIRING

We are looking for a Research Engineer for our smart cities solutions. As Research Engineer you will work with international universities, research institutions and industry partners on topics like Resilient Cities, Smart Roads and City & Public Safety Sensors.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Technology watch;
  • Accompany academic research projects, applied research, IPR creation to prototype development;
  • Break down the vision to technology advancement targets;
  • Technically supervise different phases (concept, validation, prototyping);
  • Support research project acquisition and key customer trials;
  • Create patents and IPRs;
  • Establish cooperation with key universities.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • Master?s degree in Computer Science, IT Security or Electrical Engineering;
  • Passionate about technology with demonstrated evidence of being a ?maker? or ?thinker?;
  • Hands on experience and knowledge of IoT frameworks, IoT security, LPWAN and wireless Mesh technologies (IEEE 802.15.4, Zigbee, Lora, NB-IOT) and protocols;
  • Experience in middleware platforms and technologies (e.g., Rabbit MQ, WebServices);
  • Experience in edge technologies and architectures (e.g., Docker, Microsoft Azure);
  • Hands-on experience in software design and development (e.g., C, C++, C#, Java);
  • Practical knowledge of 5G mobile edge computing (MEC) requirements of 5G core architectures, systems, and networks;
  • Languages: English and Portuguese;
  • Open for worldwide short-term travels.
