What are we looking for?

We are recruiting a Customer Marketing Manager to be part of the Comex Department at GSK Consumer Healthcare Portugal.

The Customer Marketing Manager works with GSK Marketing, Sales and Customers to identify brand and category opportunities, developing, managing and brilliantly executing the commercial calendar and activation plan across Pharmacies and Para pharmacies, ensuring its completion within the cycle process and driving learnings back into the wider business.

The Customer Marketing Manager implements the activation plan at a customer level, through effective customer marketing campaigns that support conversion at POP and set channel and customer specific brand and category execution guidelines and standards, with the aim of growing the categories and GSK´s market share, sales and profit.


The Customer Marketing manager is a key team player and works in partnership with GSK Marketing and Sales Departments to win now of choice with customers and consumers, making GSK an indispensable business partner to its customer.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage planning and execution of the commercial calendar and orchestrates all activities at the point of sale ensuring we have effective promotions and a winning mix of brand & category activity to drive business performance within customers.
  • Owns and monitors the execution of all cycle activity plans and promotional plans in ruthless prioritization of value creation and ensures all deliverables are OTIF.
  • Develops, implements and manages all customer marketing activities and in-store POSM to engage shoppers and convert them into buyers.
  • Partners with Sales in driving brilliant physical availability of our brands and the execution at the POS, setting channel specific brand and category execution standards/guidelines and monitors and evaluates in-store execution compliance against well-defined Execution Scorecard metrics (distribution, visibility, scale?)
  • Monitors and ensures the right optimization and prioritization of BTL A&P investment, forecasting, measuring and evaluating key activities (Pre & Post) and driving promotional effectiveness (ROI). Use this information to make better future business decisions.
  • Ensures direct and 3rd party sales force are properly briefed and have the right tools and materials to brilliant execute our brands and categories in the most effective way.
  • Ensures Innovation launching phases makes perfect fit with the Cycle Planning and delivers brilliant planning & execution of the Innovation Pipeline in partnership with Sales and Marketing.
  • Uses outlet and account segmentation to inform all planning and activity.
  • Supports negotiation on key costumers by developing and providing succinct category stories/presentations based on advanced customer /channel-specific shopper insights and analytics.
  • Coordinate with marketing support materials that collect the messages we want to convey to customers.
  • Coordinate role plays (in meetings cycle) to give sales teams strategic messages for selling.
  • Support Category Development Manager and Area Managers/Sales reps in anything linked to instore execution and commercial activity calendar implementation.
  • Ensures Internal Relations: coordination between Marketing / Sales / Logistics / Procurement / Regulatory Affairs departments and External relations: Customers, POS suppliers and creative agencies relations.
  • Acts as a champion following up and taking corrective actions to improve Slow Move products.
  • Ensures full compliance with GSK Code of Conduct, Code of Promotion and other relevant Codes & Policies.
  • Manage A&P BTL budget and right size investment programs, partnering with NRM team in understanding how to optimize promotional tactics and spend across the portfolio working in conjunction with the NRM team, across brand portfolio to ensure delivery of targets.
  • Project manages 3rd parties (POS Sourcing, BTL Agencies, Logistic providers?) working closely with Procurement to ensure we are optimizing investment and driving out costs.

Qualifications and Experiences

  • University degree required in Business or Economics
  • Fluent in English
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales and /or customer marketing /trade marketing areas in FMCG (preferably in a Pharmacies context).
  • Good understanding about how the total commercial organization operates and how to drive its effectiveness.
  • Strong analytical skills & strategic thinking.
  • Strong influencing, communication and collaboration skills
  • Great relationship builder with different stakeholders internally and externally
  • Good planning, organization and project management skills.
  • Proactive, energetic, resilient and persuasive.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
