Job Purpose

  • The Category & Shopper Marketing Manager works closely with the Sales, Marketing and ComEx teams to develop and deliver GSK category strategy across Oral Care & Healthcare categories, through the use of insights-driven in store merchandising activities to enhance the shopper experience and satisfy the needs of targeted shoppers.
  • Lead channel Shopper strategy at customer level, through preparation and implementation of winning shopper activation plans, with a clear objective of increasing company?s market share and deliver budgeted sales and profit targets for the Wellness brands in MM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the category strategy. This will include utilisation of global/regional category vision & strategy principles, tailoring for requirements of the local market.
  • Integrate insights (consumer, shopper, category & customer) and develop simple, logical and well articulated compelling commercial propositions.
  • Lead and shape Category Management for the business, lead key initiatives and incorporating this into day to day activities.
  • Ensure that category plans are integrated, understood and supported internally by marketing and sales teams and externally by customers.
  • Contribute as a key member to the customer teams with category knowledge and advice. Lead discussions with key customers on their category strategy, drive change and significantly improve shopper engagement at the point of purchase.
  • Review the completion of GSK´s key customer range, including range implementation, evaluation, performance planning and planogramming. Strategic selling of optimal ranges and ?next practice? merchandising solutions for GSK brands and category.
  • Bring perspective, as an independent arbiter, to the commercial agenda around investment efficiency & efficiency, providing a holistic view across brands and customers.
  • Create and manage effective channel strategies, with focus on range mix and profitability by channel and optimum activation approaches for each channel (e.g. convenience cannel?).
  • Provide consistent strong support and market representation in above country category & brand initiatives and strategy discussions.
  • Lead the development of strategic category and channel specific customer plans aligned to the commercial strategy and the needs of shoppers and customers (including driving the range and merchandising agenda)
  • Drive category initiatives, NPD concepts and the strategic growth agenda with key customers.
  • Utilise, develop and drive adoption of leading-edge tools, processes and approaches across the function, driving consistent and leading-edge application and execution.
  • Deliver efficient and effective range plans, fixturisation initiatives.
  • Prepare and execute shopper activation plan (Promotional Plan and In store visibility plan), by customer, with close collaboration with Sales Managers, sales and marketing teams with a clear focus on achieving execution and distribution goals for the Wellness brands in MM.

Requirements

  • University degree required in Business or Economics
  • High level of English
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in category management, customer marketing /trade marketing/ areas in FMCG (preferably in a Pharmacies context).
  • Strong analytical skills & strategic thinking.
  • Highly competent in category and channel strategy development.
  • Strong influencing, communication and collaboration skills
  • Great relationship builder with different stakeholders internally and externally
  • Good planning, organization and project management skills.
  • Results driven, proactive, energetic, resilient and persuasive.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and planograms tools like Spaceman.
