POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Costing Analyst reports directly to the EIMEA Costing Supervisor and indirectly to the EIMEA/NA Costing Manager.
This is an important role in the Costing team and the primary objective of this position is to support the Costing Supervisor to compile and prepare reasonable and accurate cost information in a timely and useful manner. Using advanced knowledge of systems and data, this role will execute advanced ongoing processes for manufacturing analysis to contribute to value creation. Perform and improve management accounting period close responsibilities, standard cost process development, variance analysis, projected unit costs and margin analysis.
Support Business Partners, S&OP and FP&A Teams with timely and accurate data.
Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
PRIMARY DUTIES
Monthly Period Close. Perform costing tasks efficiently and accurately in the monthly close process to verify accuracy of data, make corrections to data, reconcile discrepancies in inventory, improve general ledger linkages to detailed transactions, and improve the integrity and internal control of data, systems, and processes. Make suggestions for improvements that are consistent with market best practices. Provide support to external, internal and fiscal audits. Serve as the backup of the Costing Supervisor.
Periodic Standard and Moving Average Cost Development. Development and streamlining of processes for the calculation of standard/Moving Average costs. Develop and control tools for analysis, review, and delivery of data for multiple plants.
Manufacturing Analysis. Research underlying files in the ERP system to develop and update analysis in Microsoft Office tools of Access, and Excel. Operate in SAP, using AS400 Query, to calculate actual unit cost variances from standards. Utilize and develop advanced delivery tools for variances for RM price and usage, labor and overhead, efficiency and spending and volume. Develop tools together with the Costing Supervisor to deliver data and information to plants and business units. Partner with plants to improve analysis and build understanding of cost, margin, and value creating opportunities.
Raw Material Analysis. Develop and maintain databases that analyze raw material price changes and impacts on business for making proactive decisions around customer pricing and business strategy.
Collaboratively drive, develop, and sustain standardized processes and best practices. Facilitate cross-pollination of best practices. Improve processes, training, and feedback to verify accuracy of data, correct erroneous data, reconcile discrepancies in inventory, and improve the reliability, integrity and internal control of data, systems, and processes. Exercise good judgment when making estimates used in adjustments to comply with US GAAP and SOX.
Inventory Counts. Support the Costing Supervisor on the partnership with Operations to plan, coordinate, monitor and ensure execution of the physical counts at all production facilities, distribution warehouses and consignment locations.
Sarbanes-Oxley. Ensure internal control environment, designs and practices are adequate as prescribed in Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) management testing and monitoring processes. Assess risk of controls on an ongoing basis and recommend changes needed to ensure compliance with a strong control environment. Travel to manufacturing and inventory locations to observe and review controls related to inventory counting and costing.
Liaise with external auditors and other professionals to ensure compliance with all matters relating to statutory and USGAAP requirements in collaboration with the Costing Supervisor.
Be a key player in the SAP implementation project. Gap determination, data gathering and configuration ensuring that business and statutory requirements are followed.
Interaction with commercial business partners and commercial team to ensure proper costs are reflected on our management systems
Business Initiatives Support. Focus on the BI understanding. Develop and administrate databases and simulations that analyze business initiatives, segments, and impacts on business for making proactive decisions around business strategy and perform the respective follow-ups
Add Hoc Reporting and Analysis. Perform requested add-hoc reporting to support financial, operational and sales efforts
Travel to other plants may be about 5-10%.

Required Skills
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
College degree, with major in accounting/finance/MIS and/or CMA/CPA
Three or more years related experience in accounting/finance/MIS
Experience in manufacturing accounting/finance field is a plus
Strong interpersonal, communication, and relational skills.
Positive and enthusiastic team player and effective leader.
Good organization skills
Strong IT skills:
Experience with ERP system or strong MIS training, especially in SAP
Microsoft Office Tools: Excel spreadsheet design skills, Strong Access database development, design, and querying skills.
Competency in database system development, administration, query skills, re-engineering concepts, systems integration, data mining, and database creation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
SAP Costing experience
Manufacturing variance analysis experience
Activity based costing and standard costing methods
Cost Allocation and database design
Interacting with multiple levels of management.
Visual Basic Access experience or strong desire to learn how to utilize when beneficial
Supply Chain Management or Operations experience, exposure, or interest
