THE ROLE & TEAM


Working with the iOS team, we have a great opportunity for a full time iOS Developer based from Porto office. With about 50% of our bookings on mobile, our users rely on our apps for booking on the go. We are totally committed to creating an engaging user experience and staying at the forefront of innovation in iOS and mobile technologies.

Within your role you will have the opportunity to work on our cutting edge iOS, macOS and watchOS apps. You will join a small but focused team, passionate about all things Apple and committed to delivering quality software. Partnering with diverse and global colleagues (product managers and designers) across all our locations you will get to collaborate on exciting projects and really contribute to Hostelworld?s success.

We are looking for someone with a background in computer science, with a minimum of 3 of experience working in iOS development and who enjoys working within a fast-paced e-commerce environment.


WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • iOS development in Swift (and a bit of Objective C too)
  • Guarantee quality of iOS application, using unit and UI tests to validate the implementations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and plan new features
  • Participate in scoping, estimation, prioritisation and sprint planning


WHAT WE?RE LOOKING FOR

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Degree in computer science or similar
  • 3+ years native iOS development
  • Experience in building and publishing commercial iOS applications
  • In-Depth understanding of Swift and iOS
  • Experience on Objective C is a plus


Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong Swift programming skills
  • Proficiency using Xcode, Storyboard, Auto Layout and Swift UI
  • Unit testing and competent skills to create UI tests using XCTest
  • Consuming web API's using JSON
  • Source control using git
  • Good communication skills
