We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer (local contract) to join one of our teams in our CFIT business unit in Porto.

The Finance Department launched its Big Data solution in 2016 in order to ease the development of its regulatory reports which are required by the European Central Bank, Banque de France, BPCE and many others. Thanks to the new technologies, the team is able to fulfil many goals: responsivity towards new demands, consistency of the reports, easiness to cross data from many sources from several other departments. The Data Lake is about to go farther, and to begin a new chapter. Firstly, by expanding the team to Natixis Porto, and secondly with the ambition to put it at the very center of the Finance Department?s Information System in the next years.

You will join the Data Lake development team with over 20 Data Engineers and Data Analysts, cooperating together in two locations: Paris and Porto. Within this team, you will be involved in many exciting activities and modules, and you will take part in developments with many technologies, bringing your own skills and learning all the way around.

Indeed, the team is always looking for new technologies in order to adapt and to use the potential of the platform and of the Big Data in general, to bring better and innovative solutions to the business.

You will work with a Senior team, in Agile mode, and with exciting technologies like Scala, Spark, Hive, HBase , Kafka, Hadoop, Cloudera, and many others. You will also join a large community of bigdata engineers and data scientists at Natixis and will have many opportunities to share and learn from them.

Main Requirements:

• Experience as a Data Engineer for at least 5 years;
• Good knowledge of Hadoop and HortonWorks/Cloudera platform;
• Solid experience with Spark and Hive and relevant experience with Scala, Java or Python (high preference for Scala);
• Knowlegde of HBase and Kafka;
• Knowledge of Design Patterns (for example, reactive design patterns);
• Relevant experience with Unit Tests (TDD or BDD);
• Interest in the functional side of the data.

Optional Requirements (not mandatory):

• Knowledge of SoIR, ElasticSearch or NoSQL;
• Experience with API/Rest, Springboot, Reac.js or Angular;
• Knowledge of Cats/Zio;
• Experience with Control-M or Dataviz tools (PowerBI, Tableau).

Other Requirements:

• Good level of English (B2 -mandatory);
• Ability to effectively manage and communicate with different stakeholders;
• Positive mindset and the social skills to work in an international and distributed team;
• Strong sense of commitment and ability to pass on the culture and values of the company.

Early morning. Campo 24 de Agosto. In 4 minutes, you are clocking in at the office. After grabbing a cup of coffee and fresh fruit, pick up your laptop and choose your spot for the day. It's going to be a busy one: French class before lunch and, just after, quick medical appointment at Natixis doctor's office.

Lunch break. Outside in the big terrace (look at your crops at the Urban Garden; ready to harvest!) or, if you feel like stretching your legs, walk downtown to grab lunch.

Back inside. Quick sprint review (working together anywhere means virtual happy birthday to that colleague in Paris that just turned 35). The afternoon went flying (tasks, reports, calls, some jokes with your teammates). End it on a high note: just one PlayStation game or the final match for that ping-pong tournament.

Tomorrow, you complete that certified technical training and the day after, you will work from home, taking advantage to finally do that online course on Udemy. Once you are done with your tasks for the day, you can visit the office for a board games session or show up at the rehearsal of one of Natixis bands. If that is too steady for you, meet your colleagues to surf some waves or join them in a football match.
