The Director of International Development will oversee our aggressive expansion into new markets such as EMEA, LATAM and APAC from a People perspective. They will also serve as the Subject Matter Expert of Human Resources within each region for the global People leadership organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the SVP of International Corporate Development, Finance, Legal, InfoSec, Talent, IT and hiring managers to refine our hiring strategy, including developing the Employment Value Proposition (EVP) in each country
  • Partner with local employment attorneys, as well as data privacy, tax, security and other specialists, to develop and comprehensively evaluate employment arrangements within each country
  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of each country to determine employment arrangements that we may consider on a short term as well as long term basis
  • Collaborate with Finance and Legal to establish local entities and/or a local registered presence when required
  • Collaborate with People Leadership, Legal and local employment attorneys to create offer letters, policy and procedures within each country
  • Develop comprehensive documentation of employment benefits and agreements
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of local compliance and employment laws and serve as the subject matter expert for all employee relations concerns
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of local privacy laws and collaborate with Infosec as well as other key stakeholders to drive compliance
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of current events, cultural differences between countries and serve as a subject matter expert on these topics internally
  • Create a repository of leave entitlements including national holidays and update relevant internal stakeholders as needed
  • Guide our leadership selection and development strategies for international hires so that we can build a world class organization that is highly productive and cohesive
  • Partner with our Comp and Ben and Payroll teams to establish competitive compensation structures including equity when appropriate and establish payroll
  • Build a global equity plan and ensure that our stockholder agreement support employees outside of core geos
  • Help to oversee international mobility and ensure a smooth transition for families that relocate
  • Help to oversee the local onboarding process, including collaborating with IT and HR operations to ensure that equipment and swag arrives on time
  • Serve as the local point of contact to all employees that reside outside of our core regions
  • Create and oversee a transition plan to our core People team once a local employee has been onboarded as we have a centralized People team model

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English required; multilingual preferred
  • Employment law experience preferred
  • Thorough understanding of human resources and labor relations principles, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive statistical analyses of complex datasets
  • Ability to compose and present comprehensive reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite or related software
