Since 2015, BNP Paribas Wealth Management has a competence center in Lisbon (PIMH = Portugal International Markets Hub) to manage activities for several locations (Switzerland, Luxemburg, Germany, Monaco).



We are currently reinforcing this team and we are looking for a:


TRADER - DEALING DESK ? Structured Products


BNPP Wealth Management Offering teams are currently growing in Portugal. These are very interesting opportunities to join the growing PIMH family as dealers for Structured Products (SP).


The SP Execution Desk (?the Desk?) serves clients from different BNP Paribas WM entities in International Markets (Switzerland, Luxembourg, Monaco, Germany & Spain). The Desk executes SP orders from the bank?s private clients ? the orders being usually transmitted to the Desk via a BNPP WM employee (relationship manager (RM), investment manager (IM), etc ? internal clients from the Desk?s point of view). The Desk also advises clients (both internal and external) on SP, defines and markets the SP offering, creates and publishes various documents related to SP. Generally speaking, the Desk contributes to the development of the Bank?s SP activity.


The Desk will be based in three locations: Switzerland (Geneva), Luxembourg & Portugal (Lisbon). The desk currently sits in Geneva and Luxembourg.


MAIN TASKS


Execution:


  • Execute SP orders. The focuses of the PIMH-based SP dealers will be (1) execution of secondary market orders (for all types SP) and (2) execution of primary market orders for ?low? SP (mostly equity yield enhancement SP).

  • Ensure monitoring of transactions? processing and related risks involved in execution activities.


Support and Coordination:


  • Provision of various services (including back-up) to the Swiss and Luxembourg-based SP dealers: e.g. checks of termsheets and KIDs / PRIIPs provided by SP providers, update or creation of SP-related SP marketing brochures.

  • Contribution to the development of fruitful relationships with major sell-side counterparts servicing the Desk for SP execution.

  • Coordination with the Securities Masterfile Team (SMF) to ensure timely and quality SP creation in our instruments database.

  • Contribution to reconciliation of SP books with Lisbon-based Middle Office (MO): participation to and optimisation of the process.

    Maintenance of various databases with regular updates, controls and uses of SP-related data (e.g. valuation, early redemption).


Development:


  • Take an active part in the industrialisation of ?flow? SP issuances, in particular with the use of the ?Contineo? multi-issuer platform (project to be completed end 2021 or beginning 2021).

  • Contribute to the origination of new ideas, be it in terms of pay-offs or thematics, or in the way the onshore Desks can further improve client servicing thanks to nearshore Desk.


Organisation and reporting


  • Take an active role in the seamless day-to-day organisation of a Desk split in three locations.

  • Regularly and actively report to both local management (in Portugal) and functional management (in Switzerland).


SKILLS


  • +6 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Broad knowledge of SP.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets across asset classes (Equities, Credit, FX, Commodities, Funds).
  • Ability to develop good and stable relationships with the other SP Desks, internal clients (RMs, IMs, etc.) and external ones where relevant.
  • Attention to details and rigour are strongly required for execution.
  • Excellent analytical skills. Intermediate programming capacity (notably VBA) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and listening in English. French and Portuguese are a plus.
  • Dynamism, autonomy, organization skills and flexibility are all required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and commit to deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal working relationships.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast pace and multi-cultural environment.
  • Passion, tenacity and resilience in an ever-changing environment.
  • Bachelor or Master?s degree in Finance or equivalent.
